Just to make it clear to people who are not aware of the naming convention; since BBC decided to air Series 6 of Doctor Who with a break inserted in between, hence dividing it into two halves, we’ve conveniently named the two parts as Series 6a and 6b.

Now, we’ve already discussed all the major points of what happened in Series 6a. And with just a day left for the new episode of 6b to be aired, let’s discuss the revelations and hints from the prequel video and the online trailers. There are lots of theories boiling in my head, so here we go.

#1) The Prequel Video Let’s Kill Hitler : [ Watch it Here ]

Doctor Who - The Doctor in the Tardis

The prequel video is just about 2 minutes long, and despite being a very short video, it gets many things right. It’s simple, yet moving and even manages to sneak in a few laughs. So, we hear Amy Pond leaving the Doctor a message on the Tardis phone asking the Doctor if he has been able to find her daughter – Melody. Now she knows she’s fine, and that she grows up to be River, but her motherly instincts do not want her to lose all the years of seeing Melody grow up. Now, I know its Doctor Who, so Matt Smith plays the whole answer phone gag to its fullest potential, replete with words like – BRAKESSS!!! 🙂 And I can’t help my wide grin! But then, the mood changes starkly when it is revealed that the Doctor is consciously not receiving the call from Amy, and he’s been listening to it all the time. He looks disappointed, and lost. Could mean, that even though he promised Amy that he knew where to look for Melody (A Good Man Goes to War), he actually does not have a clue. Either that, or he knows something about Melody which is making him sad.

Also noteworthy are the wide shots of  The Tardis and the lighting department, who’ve done a brilliant job. And of course, the music being played here is – Can I Come With You, which was originally played when young Amelia was packing her bags ( in Series 5, Episode 1 – The Eleventh Hour ). And even though it has been a series and a half, Amelia Pond is still waiting. Poor girl! Well, we’ll get to find out the other parts of the concealed picture very soon.

Hit the jump for the specualtions and rumours that can be deduced from the trailer of Series 6b.

#2) The trailer speculations [ Watch the Series 6b Trailer here ]

Right, there are some rumours about River being Madam Kovarian herself. Here’s why –

Is River Song also Madam Kovarian
Is River Song also Madam Kovarian?

And here’s why not –

River Song with an eyepatch. But she's not Madam Kovarian
But she's not Madam Kovarian tho' !

As we can see, these people who are fighting against the Doctor have this eyepatch as some form of a uniform. And so, even though River has it, it could just mean that she joined their team, just as Madam Kovarian announced it to the Doctor. River was intended to be used as a weapon to fight a war against the Doctor. And this theory sits perfectly with that.

And oh, there are some other things being thrown at us in hyperspeed. I’ll try to remain sane, and you try to keep up with the pace.

The Doctor’s time is running out and he probably knows that he’s going to die, and Ma’am Kovarian says – And this is where it all begins.

There is a room no.11 sign, and the Doctor is running down that very hotel corridor. Why? I don’t know. And ooh, Churchill. And also, Rory and Amy on a bike, and James Corden running.

There’s a bucket load of monsters back this season, and then some more.

Doctor Who - Weeping Angels

The Silence are back, and so are the Weeping Angels, the Cybermen, the Headless Monks and some creepy wooden puppets.

I guess the secret of  the 1st floor of The Lodger will be revealed, as we are given a teaser of someone being pulled into some sort of a black hole. That and James Corden and the Doctor sharing an intimate moment, whilst the Doctor naughtily fiddles with the sonic screwdriver.

Rory punches Hitler

Rory punches Hitler, and Amy is fighting white bots which resemble a  StormTrooper (Another lawsuit Mr.Lucas? ). There’s explosions all over. And also, a scene of the Doctor looking at a display in his Tardis with his own Death Date.

The Doctor's Death Date - 24/04/2011

We finally see a recap of the Impossible Astronaut of the Doctor being lasered to death. But the Doctor has the final say, smirking in the corner, saying – Haven’t you figured that one out yet? Figured out WHAAAAAT??? Damn you Moffat! I lose, I lose!!!

I leave you with this minimal poster of Let’s Kill Hitler. [via Reddit ]
